Replace my 3DConnexion CadMouse Pro?

My 3 year old 3DConnexion CadMouse Pro (wired) is acting up & progressively getting worse. Skippy & erratic scroll wheel syndrome. If I scroll up, it lags, or goes the wrong direction, scroll some more then it comes back, sometimes overcompensates. Same problem works in reverse. Same issue in all apps. Some Googling including their help forum turns up its unfortunately a somewhat common issue. No change in (Win-10) OS/updates or hardware or anything else on my side. The online recommendations seem to be quite random, largely unresolved & a lot of 'contact technical support' answers on their forum which makes me think its probably my mouse electronics bugging out.

I like it OK but in all honesty never really enjoyed the fit in my hand. I could just throw another $100 at the problem, stick with the familiar but - any other wired/corded (ideally 3-button) mice I should consider? I'm not really hardware savvy but even if it was a solid 2-button mouse where I could program the scroll wheel (or another center utility button) to free float the SW model I would be happy. Mostly I fid the other buttons a distraction if I don't grab the mouse just the right way. IOW I'm a Neanderthal LOL. I haven't had great luck with Bluetooth in SW, maybe its the micro lag or my environment or my OCD. Anyway, any input appreciated.

I'm on far side of the spectrum. 15 buttons gaming mouse which got discontinued.
I also us 3D Space mouse to move the model.
Able to set mouse buttons to any keystroke is very handy.
Better if it adjust to different programs.
If possible, go to store and try how the mouse feel in your hand.
