SW 2025 SP0 Automatic Border Issue

Unread post by JSculley »

Testing SW2025 SP0 and I'm seeing something strange with Automatic Borders. I always recreate my drawing templates from scratch with each new release using the default SW generated templates as a starting point. The first step is to create the automatic border. I'm testing in a virtual machine, so typically, I have my current template open on my workstation, and I open the default template generated by SW (C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS 2025\templates\Drawing.drwdot) on the VM. I then look at the settings for the border an om workstation and duplicate them on the VM. I've done it like this for many years.

In SW2025, I edit the sheet format and then right click the sheet format and select Automatic Border. I click the next arrow to skip the delete list, and the automatic border appears as shown here:

with one row (A) and one column (1).

If I change anything (e.g. change the number of rows to 2) in the property manager, the zone labels disappear:

Once they disappear, nothing brings them back. Even if I change nothing, as soon as I click the OK checkmark, the labels disappear:

If anyone else is testing 2025 and can check this behavior either in a VM or not, I would appreciate it. There is always a chance that it has something to do with running in a VM, but it's never been an issue in the past and I much prefer using a VM for testing instead of having to set up another physical machine.

My VAR was able to reproduce it with 2025 PR1 but they say the problem went away with SP0, which is not what I'm seeing.

Quick update: I've found that the problem only occurs when editing the sheet format of the template. If I create an actual drawing from the template, the zone labels appear as expected, so it's more of an annoyance than a problem at this point.
