Eek Maha, that's a good question, can you lower the bar so we can see the installation location too? It seems to be grayed out also. Maybe that could tell us something

Hrm I'm sorry I can't really help you. It looks like it's not installing SolidWorks from the Products listing, but maybe it's just a little under. Perhaps go back and see if something's missing a check?

I installed SP2 in the same way therefore I do not have idea for this particular issue. Only thing I can try is uninstall whole SWX 2021v and reinstall again.

Re: SolidWorks 2021v SP2 to SP3 not work
That could work. I remember one year on a SP they had done a mistake releasing the files and it was missing actual files for the installation, so if you were to download only the SP update, the update would not work, but if you were to download the entire program for that version, then the update would work.Maha Nadarasa wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 6:50 pm I installed SP2 in the same way therefore I do not have idea for this particular issue. Maybe it's the same case here?

Re: SolidWorks 2021v SP2 to SP3 not work
I can remember long time ago I tried to update SP only form the start menu, option provided by SWX but it did not work therefore I went to download full version and installed it again.
I did same for this version but it did not work. Only option available here is total cleanup of SWX 2021v SP2 and reinstalling again SWX 2021v SP3.

Usually contact VAR and they'll send link for full 20GB install package.

Will this issue vanish with other SP? I can wait for future SP

Re: SolidWorks 2021v SP2 to SP3 not work
Why is in the Program & Features section SWX MB empty?
when I used SWX 2019v version I got frequent warning message said that "Memory is running out". But with SWX 2021v I am not getting at all. That is why I want to look MB it has taken.

Read this:
https://www.cadforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=450
Short answer, increase pagefiles size and SW won't complain.
"Memory" doesn't mean RAM only.
BTW what you're looking at is file size on drive, not "memory".

I think because that is a single placeholder for several applications (SolidWorks, PDM, Visualize, CAM, etc.). It would have to add them all up, may not be possible with the different options you can select for each.Maha Nadarasa wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:50 am Why is in the Program & Features section SWX MB empty?

Work form SwYmP instead of work form home.
You need to make an idea in the SwYmP. Tag and quote everyone important in DSS. Get those SW elites to form a support group. Have group meeting every weeks. Get the 5 SwYmP trolls (I'm one, and two) to keep commenting in your idea.
Then it could get fix by the end of the month.

Re: SolidWorks 2021v SP2 to SP3 not work
I have seen this a number of times. It is a failure of the installation manager to access the toolbox/hole wizard database or folder, or a previous installation causes the issue.
Typically you need to repair the installation to resolve this, but on rare occasions it requires a full uninstall and reinstall to resolve.

Question: In the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager (IM), why is the 'CHANGE' link for customizing Hole Wizard and Toolbox settings grayed out?
Answer:
In some cases, this has been found to be caused by unorganized previous version installations. If the Hole Wizard and Toolbox settings link is grayed out (even though you choose to install Hole Wizard and Toolbox), then the following error displays:
'The installed Toolbox folder cannot be found: [path to toolbox detected].
Make sure you have access to this directory.
SolidWorks installation or upgrade will fail if Toolbox is not present in this folder.
To resolve this issue, repair the existing installation or select a different Toolbox option.
This condition must be resolved before you can continue.'
This error indicates that the IM has detected a previous Hole Wizard or Toolbox installation and cannot access it. You must repair or uninstall the previous installation to resolve this.

From your explanation I found trouble free way is uninstalling SWX 2021v SP2 and reinstalling SWX 2021v SP3.

There is a way to repair it but I cannot remember. It was cut and paste. A file was cut it from previous pack and paste it to new pack.

If you have multiple version of SW, make sure install Toolbox in different folder. Like Solidworks Data 2021.

Yes I have multiple version (2019v SP5, 2020v SP5 and 202v SP2). But I am unable to remember the path to repair.

Re: SolidWorks 2021v SP2 to SP3 not work
When I install new version, say 2021.
I'll copy Solidworks Data 2020 to Solidworks Data 2021 first, before I start install.
Then get install to update Solidworks Data 2021.
You might need to uninstall all and reinstall all to clean it up.
Currently I have 2019, 2020, 2021. I did keep a copy of old Solidworks Data of 2017, 2018. And templates.
