Is anyone using Envelope Publisher? What is the advantage?

Is anyone using the functonality of Envelope Publisher? It allows to publish envelope components in to sub-assemblies. From what I can see it puts an instance of the envelope component with a link back to the reference. I can't yet tell what the advantage of that is over simply inserting the envelope part as an instance into the sub-assembly using the regular 'Insert Component' command.

Does anyone have any experience of using it? So far the idea seems good but I have found the envelope publisher a little fussy if you then want to publish another envelope later on with multiple instances appearing in the 'Published Envelopes' tree node.
