Re: Difficult to open subassemblies resolved from Large Design Review
... I struggled through that while we were stuck on 2022, assuming that this was a gross oversight and opening components resolved from LDR mode would be fixed, but I just installed 2024 and it’s completely unchanged. Am I missing the obvious thing that makes it easy to open subassembly components ...

Maybe use breadcrumbs? Not sure how LDR affects it though. This is what I mean: GIF below (ignore the mate errors...still working on this assembly) Media1.gif Edit: So I just tested it in LDR, and breadcrumbs don't work. (I am using SW 2022) *sigh* But they do work in lightweight. OK still looking.

See if this does what you want. Under "Display Manager", select the "Scene, Lights, and Cameras" sub-tab. Right click "Ambient" and edit it's value. I find the default value from SW to be too dark, so I have it set to 75% in my part and assembly templates. I ama GIF. C...

Are you talking about these views?
If so, those come from 2 sources:
1) the canned views from here: 2) And also all annotation views that are listed for the part: It lists them both.

You could create a display state right before you start hiding.
Then revert to that display state to get back to what you want.
Even if you write a macro, this may be the way to do it.

One way to reset it is to use isometric view in the orientation toolbar. Just quickly switch to iso view, then resume working.

If you put the spring inside a tube with a cap that is flat bottom, you don't have to worry about the helix. The tube will keep the spring aligned. You just need the tube to encompass the entire length of the spring or the coils will catch on the top of the tube.
