Maybe use breadcrumbs? Not sure how LDR affects it though. This is what I mean: GIF below (ignore the mate errors...still working on this assembly) Media1.gif Edit: So I just tested it in LDR, and breadcrumbs don't work. (I am using SW 2022) *sigh* But they do work in lightweight. OK still looking.

Network location in Quick access could slow down File Explorer because it need to check if they're available all the time. You could create a display state right before you start hiding.
Then revert to that display state to get back to what you want.

Even if you write a macro, this may be the way to do it.

If you hit CTRL + SHIFT + TAB, it temporarily shows you what is hidden, and you can select it to show it again. It won't do exactly what you want. But as far as I know it is closest. Better than SHIFT + TAB because you can select what you want to unhide and not have to cycle through the visible laye...

We don't really get it much anymore unless we're working on heavy assemblies/drawings and when we were getting it my VAR kept telling me that it would give me a warning as long as there's a Red X, which is why I figured I'd point it out. I have found that sometimes it needs to be "reset"

One way to reset it is to use isometric view in the orientation toolbar. Just quickly switch to iso view, then resume working.

I don't know why this works, but it does.

If you put the spring inside a tube with a cap that is flat bottom, you don't have to worry about the helix. The tube will keep the spring aligned. You just need the tube to encompass the entire length of the spring or the coils will catch on the top of the tube.
