help remembering..

Unread post by Ryan-3DS »

Hey, gang.
I was reviewing the changes in the NX sketcher and saw them shake and break a sketch line away from the sketch. I can't recall if that was a function in the Solid Edge sketcher or not. I do recall this being an ability using the old (no defunct) Siemens App for tablets and phone- Catchbook.

Can you help me out? Is it in Solid Edge Sketcher?

Google results say ST7 had shake and break sketching. I just tried in 2019 and it's not doing it. Thankfully though, I would not like that. Maybe it's a setting.

It's kinda like "Detach Segment On Drag" but user doesn't need to remember to turn it off when done.

I prefer to just select the relations and delete which is why I hate that SW doesn't have coincident point sketch relation (it merges points and can only be broken apart with Detach). But I've found that I'm weird.

In SolidWorks......hold "control", grab line and drag,....let off control and drop line.

I'm an idiot. I copied the line three times before I came back and reread your post.

Thanks for the verification! So it looks like the SE sketcher and NX sketcher are pretty much aligned. So those users that purchase a design bundle- a value meal of 1 NX seat and 2 SE seats- can move back and forth without much relearning/learning.

In Solid Edge, do the same but use the ALT key instead, and no need to remember to release the ALT key before dropping.
