Hello,
Using SW 2024sp2 w PDM Pro. I am admin.
I am trying to automate my company's revision process as well as their Engineering workflow. On the Rev Table on the SW drawing I would prefer for Engineers to enter the description (PDM variable RT_Description) while the drawing is open. It's easier to see dimensions that have changed that need to be listed in the description. The problem comes in trying to pass that description info back up the chain into the variable in the data card.
Conversely, on the workflow approval transition, we could create an Action to Set Variable for the description to many different values, such as "Comment". This would require the user to enter the revision description on the Check-in Comment and then that info would be passed down into the Rev Table in the dwg. That info would be preserved as meta-data.
But there isn't a "value" that I can set the RT_Description variable to that will allow for manual entry description at the rev table in the dwg.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
