Hi, I am trying to use the thread feature on Solidworks and make a 3/4-inch tapped thread for a brass fitting. But only ever knowing the metric system It sucks. Can someone please let me know what the size to us in the dropdown feature? Currently using 0.7500-16 but that's wrong.

Pipe threads are a bit different as 3/4" does not refer to the size of the thread but rather the size of the id of one particular grade of pipe. Different pipe grades have different wall thickness but the od remains the same so that the thread is the same. Always confuses the students here the first time they have to cerate a part with a BSP thread.

For BSPP threads with the hole wizard select DIN for Standard and Straight Pipe Tapped hole for Type. G3/4 will be 3/4 in BSP.

Tapped does not equal tapered, so BSP isn't equal to NPT. ;)

Last time I got tapped was in a bar.
Not a British one.
I don't mind a British tap.
Maybe Irish is better.
