PDM BOM missing items
Hi, All When i'm using the generated BOM in Solidworks PDM, I'm missing some items. We're using Solidworks 2020 SP 5 with PDM standard 2020. Have master assemblies with a total of 700 different parts, with a total of about 3000 We use the following settings for the BOM: The latest reference vision D...

Revision comment from the designer instead of the reviewer.
Hi all. I want to change the way the revisions work. Right now a designer is changing some part, submit it for approval, write in the comment section what he did and clicks ok. than the reviewer checks it and approves the part and fills in his comment('approved' most of the time). The comment from t...

How to quickly hide toolbox components
Hi everyone,
I can vaguely remember that there was a simple option to hide toolbox components(but maybe it was in another cad program).
But is there a way to quickly hide those components.

Re: Changing layer order
So the Solidworks forum still had some interesting stuff. Interesting. I did a quick search and came across this from deepack Yes you can do that via a macro. Actually there are few steps to do that. First you export the layers details as an excel file. Rearrange the layers in excel and then use the...

Changing layer order
Is there a way to change the layer order of the drawing layers. There is a move button in the layer menu, but that does nothing.

Re: Need macro to export to 2 diffrent locations
When I get back to work I will look at the code to change it to getpathname.
When I change the export ripe to PDF or dxf it will add the sheet name. In the middle.
So filename-sheetname-revision.pdf

Re: Resources to learn to understand the code in a macro
So first i see that i posted this in the PDM sup and not the macro sup. Is it possible to relocate this post?
I was looking around here and i came across codestack. looks promising. I certainly will use that.

Re: Need macro to export to 2 diffrent locations
Hi thanks for the help. The macro i use to save .STEP is by Deepak and i had to make some changes to some values so it would work for me. With the changes i made with insperation from your code it worked. It can now save on the original folder and the dump folder. I also changed the .STEP to a combi...

Need macro to export to 2 diffrent locations
Hi all, currently we use a macro to export PDF/DXF and STEP files to the folder of the part/drawing. the macro takes the filename and add the revision to it and it works great(unless file has the same name and is checked in, then whole solidworks will stop). We can simply locate the files and copy t...

Re: CAD Admins, raise your hands!
Hi, ik think i'm the CAD admin here at my work. I'm working here for almost 2 years now. The setup when i started was a little confusing, a NAS with a very deep folder structure. But now we work in a pdm system with the rule that we only go 4 folders deep. I installed the PDM system and set all the ...
