Re: Inventor and Solidworks PDM
When we migrated SE data to PDM Pro pack and go was of no use because nearly all the files are reused in many other parent files. I could not find a way to get SE pack and go to use those files that already existed from other parents' pack and gos. So the files were copied into the vault and had to...

WELL found out that the best way to do that was to add display states from existing ones and make sure they are in the right order and then delete the old ones.

I saw a problem like this before, but we were able to reattach and manually update the balloons till the file got opened again. The guy attached the balloons to center lines and that would make them go crazy.

With the use of cell phones and cameras most of them questions that you need to go to the shop for about stuff not working could be done via video chats, and stuff. How about exploring to where the files are saved. The file would have to be one that was opened and saved recently.
Then again i have had a crash with a part in edit mode and it insisted that a part was still rolled back.

Where did the drawing come from? We used to copy old assemblies and drawings. Some were from the 90's and they would start causing problems. To fix this we started updating the drawing standards. We took a new drawing and saved the standard to a file, then when we open the old drawings we load the n...

The weld bead? Depending on how big and how accurate you need the weight of the model to be I never worry about showing the welds. Just but the metal up together and have the appropriate weld symbol. On some of the vessels that I would do we just took the total weight and add about 10% to it to acco...

Sounds like a lot of fun. Have you checked the hardware. Mem, and video card would be the first things that I would look at. Large asm mode should be bringing in 99% of the stuff light weight. If you don't need it to be resolved keep it light weight. Display states, use the Isolate command and save ...
